Structural Posts in Putney – SW15

This kitchen extension project in Putney has the main steel frame up on the outside of the building. The next step is excavating the existing wall in order to have a nice open planned finish. This is where the structural calculations need to be accurate! As the Ash Island team remove pre-existing windows and walls they have to remember that those walls are supporting the house! So, in order to prevent a ground-zero construction site, the team have put in strong temporary supports while they position (in burgundy) new steels to the house. Once the concrete has settled, the cement has dried and the new bricks are sturdy in place, then the temporary supports can be removed. This is great progress team, keep it up!
